It was 1996 when I first heard of Death Rally a game developed by Remedy Games a then smallish development studio based out of Espoo, Finland. The distributor was Apogee, a heavy weight publisher of its time and one that was an expert at using the shareware model of game distribution.

If you grew up in the mid 90’s playing the extremely addictive top down racing game known as Death Rally then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Remedy Games who developed the game back in 1996 (then for DOS only) have kindly reworked and re-released it to work on modern PC computers (XP, Vista, Windows 7).

Back in the year 1961, the mere thought of a person contemplating the idea of creating videogames would be enough to put that person into the category of crazy. Why ? I hear you ask, well that answer is simple! Back then videogames were barely around. Let’s take a look at how it all developed to what we have today.
