1 Forum Vs Multiple
Marvzilla recently suggested an idea about slimming the forums down to just 1 gaming forum and one off topic forum. Saying this might promote more activity and increase the level of members sticking around. See his post here.

I just wanted to get everyone else ideas on what they thought on the 1 gaming forum vs multiple gaming forums idea ? Post your votes and opinions.

Voted the 2nd. 2 forums might be too little, and it doesn't really look very good. I suggest keeping the number to like 5 to 6, and that will make it look like we're getting more activity.

If we were to slim down, i remember a previous incarnation of this forum was without the genre specific blocks... would that help i.e. having only the Sony, Nintendo,XBox sections ? etc etc ?

Honestly, I like the way it is but I think we should trim down the sections a little.

Two forums is two... er... too little. But we can definitely compact forums into slimmer, sexier versions of the old ones. Like compounding all the console ones into Consoles, Handhelds, and PC.

Confused? You will be
"Member Contributions -> Media" & "Other Stuff -> Media" need to be combined at the very least!

I think slimming down was the essence of what I was suggesting, maybe the 2 forum example of Neogaf is extreme. The problem as I see it with so many subcategories is you might get one post in a category and then no other for months which leaves a negative impression in visitors minds (do you remember the good old days before the ghost town....)
A slimmer forum would condense (sp?) the posts, the activity would be more noticable and a busier forum would (hopefully) lead to more people joining in the party so to speak.

Ok well it seems all are in agreement of a slim down, so lets get some suggestions in... If anyone is interested in proposing a full blown slim down plan! Then im open to ideas.... So please suggest them below, I already have some ideas but it might be good to hear from the rest of you.
I have temporarily squashed things down into sub-forums so we can atleast see more clearly what sections we have.

I'm liking what you've done already. Thanks for your time here, TD.
But as many suggestions as possible would help us gain a wide opinion to hopefully satisfy the majority.

fp.
