Default Basic Rules for RPing

Ok, I thought might as well make some rules for forum Role Playing so we can do some here. Here are some basic terms and rules:

1. Make sure that you state what type of RP your game is. The types include:
-Team RP
-Story RP
-Town RP
-Adventure RP
-Military RP
-Misc. RP

Try to stay true to the type of RP you have.

2. OOCC (out of character chatting)
Keep it to a minimum, it breaks the feel of the RP. When oocc'ing, remember to use something to clarify that it is in fact oocc. Most people use double brackets. Try to keep it short sweet and to the point. DON'T make whole oocc posts, try to have a 2 to 1 ratio of RP and oocc if you need oocc (that means 2 lines of RP for every 1 line of oocc). Keep it on topic the topic of the RP, like when asking the rules of something.
-EX: ((How do you attack another planet?))

3. Keep it PG-13. Seriously.

4. Grammar
If you don't care for grammar, then forget this rule, but make sure that if you are enforcing proper grammar that you do it properly (without flaming/trolling). But also make sure posts are legible.

5. Be active, that's a no brainer. If you join an RP, stick with it to the end. If you REALLY want to quit, make sure it is acknowledged by the RP owner. Also, state it in a polite manner. And if possible, make a logical reason for your character to leave (EX you died or your army was desecrated or you withdrew or you got hitched).

6. Owner of the RP has the rights to ban people from an RP if they are not contributing or if they are bothersome. If the offender does not leave and it turns into a trolling situation, then proper forum authorities should be alerted.

7. Use an RP format. These include narrating your actions, using a script style to describe actions, or using a hybrid of the two.

8. Don't God-Mod/God-mode. A God-mod/God-mode is when you do something overpowering to your character/army/team. These exist in the following forms:
-Speedhacking: completing actions too fast for another person to retaliate (EX I used a drop kick to subdue you then shot you in the face and put your body into a dumbwaiter).
-Power Charactering: Simply put, it's when you always hit, never take damage, do massive damage to others, or finding some other way to make yourself unstoppable. This isn't fun and nobody likes a cheater.
-Warping: This is obvious. It's basically lying about your characters location, or changing it when you don't like what's happening to you.

There are other God-Mods, so if you know them tell me so I can update the list. Also, don't use a God-Mod I don't know about and think it's ok.

9. Battle Judging
If somebody thinks a battle is close, they can call in someone (preferably that a mod or admin) to judge it. The judge's decision is final.

10. Follow RP-Specific rules, forum rules, and any other rules that apply.
