Default CTRacer Review~

Ive been playing this game for a week now and its pretty much turning out to be an ok game. For one who doesn’t play much racing games, I had my reservations in playing this but still, I also wanted to give it a try.

It didn’t particularly disappoint.

Gameplay:

It feels like a page out of Need for Speed as CTRacer’s “Main Field” is somewhat similar. You can freely roam the available cities (there are three of them) and you can do quests at designated areas. You can also meet and greet AND battle race any of the online players taking a stroll in the city.

The learning curve isn’t that difficult especially if you play a lot of racing games. But if you are a newbie like me, theirs is a “Newbie Guide” in the CTR Website/Forums and as for controls, you can easily adjust the controls to your liking.

The other thing I liked about the gameplay of this game is how it also incorporated another Racing icon which is Initial D. The maps are almost and if not, the same and some of the cars look and feel like the cars in the Initial D anime. The drifiting is an integral part of CTRacer as its “Race Mode” maps features some of the most hardest drift maps I’ve ever seen. And if you’ve watched the Initial D anime, you would know.

Graphics:

Well, they don’t blow anyone away with their graphics at the moment. But its still looks great, the game can cater to high end PC’s as well as low end ones. Besides, a game isn’t all about graphics.

The Community:

An important aspect of an MMO is their Community, be it offline [forums] or
online/ingame. CTR has great Mods who help out players if and when they can. The
Forum Mods are helpful and nice too.

The thing I’ve noticed is that most of its players and a mix of Indian and other Asian countries. Not much of the players are from the US. I even befriended a player from
Bulgaria!

Aside from the usual and typical troll, spammer and insensitive jerk [which is common in MMO’s], CTRacer’s community is a fun and tight knit group as some of the players have been there since their Closed Beta.

Events:

Another important aspect of an MMO. Events lure in new players like me and keep older players happy and satisfied.

CTR has a lot of events currently going on as of the moment and it seems that they still have a lot more in store.

My Verdict:

It’s certainly a very fun, entertaining and exciting game to play and I don’t even play a lot of racing games before! It’s a definite *MUST TRY* to all who wants to take a break from their usual games and burn some rubber.
