Girls And Gaming ? Why ?

Ok seeing as we have a few females on the site I just hoped you peeps might comment on the whole girls starting to get more active with gaming.

I know it's been said that in previous generations the publishers just weren't putting the stuff to lure you girls in, or were putting out really girly stuff which wasn't really what you wanted to play unless you were like 5 years old.

I know casual gamers, women and children are all areas where game developers and publishers are trying more and more to break into. Mainly because they want your money but give us some real examples of some really great games that have helped bring girls more into gaming or simply games that you would like to see that would really tickle your fancy.

Also incase I come across as sexist or anything I just want to say that Im genuinely asking the question out of interest, as I personally don't know any female gamers, I wish my wife would love gaming but i dont think its gonna happen
