Hey everyone! Name's Erin, I'm one of those 'gamer chicks.' I work as a freelance writer and cover mostly Japanese pop culture and video games.

I've been a gamer since I was about five, playing Pac-Man in the arcades and Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy on the NES.

I'm certainly into all the current releases, but I have an exceptionally soft heart for the PS1 and Dreamcast. <3

We are always looking for talented writers to contribute to our blog if you have the time, or inclination.

Sounds like you have an established console history too.

Do you favour anything on this generation's consoles?

I'm currently playing (in no particular order)...

"Tekken 6" (from yesterday)
"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" (mainly online multiplayer)
"Batman: Arkham Asylum"
"Wet"
"Resident Evil 5"
"Call of Duty: World at War" (Nazi Zombie maps only)
"EyePet" (...yes, seriously!)

We have lots of threads across many topics but, if you feel the need to, please start another to discuss something else we have not covered.

I actually do contribute to this site! I've posted some of the articles on the homepage and thought, hey if I'm writing for 1UP Gamers, I might as well join in some forum fun.

Ah man, how is Tekken 6? I want to get it so badly.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was awesome!! I recently played Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and that was really fun, too. Most of the current PS3 games in our house are my boyfriend's and not really the ones I'm looking to play.. I'm more into RPGs and the PS3 games are a bit pricey, so I haven't really gotten a chance to extend my collection. Sad, yes... So I'm making due with currently, Final Fantasy III, Pokemon Red (don't ask me why) and my super awful, love to play it for the lulz, Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2.

I know Erin!... I was giving you the opportunity to list the blog entries you have already made. Sorry for being too cryptic!

If I'm honest "Tekken 6" isn't as big an improvement over the other titles in the franchise as I thought it was going to be, but it is still very playable & the new "Tekken Force Mode" storyline is entertaining (albeit a little too riddled with cut-scenes). You may like it for the Japanese context though.

I was more impressed with the advancement in game-play from "Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection" to "Soul Calibur IV", but maybe restrictions were placed on the development due to the concurrent release across both the PS3 & Xbox 360 platforms (with the PSP release coming next year).

"Tekken 7" is already being considered as well!

Back to your games of choice at present; I liked the last Naruto title on the PS3 ("Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm") enough to buy it, but I have not seen/tried the new release (as yet).

Although I am a fan of the Marvel Universe games, I did not like the first "Ultimate Alliance" release due to the "top-down" view of the action. The perspective has changed in the follow-up title hasn't it?

I did like "Rise of the Imperfects" though... I bought that on both the PS2 & PSP formats but I have not played for a long time. Perhaps I'll remedy that right now...

Glad you found your way here... I'm about to buy Tekken 6 this weekend... I just got my copy of COD: Modern Warfare 2 today.. Will see how that is.
