My favourite titles on the PS3 are "Burnout Paradise" (spectacular crashes & real attention to detail in ancillary scenery. The ability to drop-in to online games almost instantaneously is a particularly good feature that I hope is carried forward and used as a benchmark for future titles, not only by this developer but by their competitors too), and "Midnight Club: Los Angeles" (interesting diversion from the 'norm' with a semi-story mode & after the first few races where the console-controlled drivers let you win, it has a decent learning curve to make you get really annoyed you lost a race but motivated enough to keep trying).
I have the Collector's Edition of "Race Driver: GRID" that grabbed my attention based on the Playable Demo, but I have yet to find the time to devote to it.
There are other very enjoyable "racers" on the PS3 at present. However, I didn't really rate "SEGA Rally" as I thought the graphics were a bit of a let-down [more like a PS2 presentation, than what I would expect of a PS3 title]... and I have yet to try my previously purchased "Stuntman: Ignition". I may well try "Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli" or just wait for the the soon-to-be-out-of-beta test "Supercar Challenge" [that will feature the downloadable content that was made but could not be released for "Ferrari Challenge" due to copyright issues!], but I have far too much to keep me occupied as it is.
One driving title to stay clear of, mind you... "Full Auto 2: Battlelines".
With such competition available now & expected in the next year or so ("
Split Second", or "
Colin McRae: DiRT 2", or "
Fuel"), I probably will just ignore "Gran Turismo 5" completely.

PS. A link to the
history of the Gran Turismo series I have typed-up previously, if you are interested.
